He is Full Professor of Financial Markets Law at Università Luigi Bocconi in Milan and Visiting Professor at Università Ca’ Foscari in Venice.

He is a Fellow Academic Member of the European Banking Institute (EBI) in Frankfurt, one of the leading pan-European centres for research on banking and financial regulation.

He serves as an Alternate Member of the Board of Appeal of the European Supervisory Authorities in Frankfurt (EBA, ESMA and EIOPA).

He has been a member of the Commission for the reform of the Italian Consolidated Law on Finance and is a Scientific Member of the Steering Committee established by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) for the reform of capital markets regulation.

He has taught and serves on PhD committees at several European universities, including Leuven, Luxembourg, Paris, Toulouse, Bologna, Tallinn and Rome La Sapienza.

He is the coordinator of the Banking and Digital Law modules of the LL.M. in EU Banking Legislation organised by the European Banking Institute and the University of Zurich.

He is a member of the International Jurisdiction Taskforce (IJT), which forms part of the UK Jurisdiction Taskforce (UKJT) established in the United Kingdom in 2018.

He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Paolo Baffi Centre at Università Bocconi and serves on the faculty board of the PhD in Business Law at the same university.

He is a member of the editorial board of the journal “Rivista delle società”.

He is the author of numerous publications, including monographs, on financial and securities markets law, published in both English and Italian. His articles appear in leading international academic journals in the field.

His principal areas of expertise include corporate, commercial, banking, financial and insurance law, with particular attention to comparative legal perspectives, the application of international legal models and structures, and issues relating to the cross-border activities of foreign operators in Italy.

He has developed particular expertise in the field of collective asset management — with specific reference to alternative investments, private equity and real estate — as well as in investment services and banking services.

He is also engaged in academic research in the field of Law and Humanities, with particular reference to the intersections between history, opera and law.

He has significant experience advising listed companies on corporate governance matters, market operations and procedures relating to the issuance and listing of financial instruments.

He advises clients in insolvency and restructuring proceedings, including those involving non-financial entities.

He holds a number of positions in leading companies, primarily in the financial sector.

He regularly participates as a speaker at numerous national and international conferences.

He is registered in the Italian Register of Statutory Auditors.
